Mishkat al-Masabih is a comprehensive collection of ahadith that covers almost all aspects of Islamic belief, Jurisprudence (fiqh) and virtues. It is taught around the world to students of Hadith, often as a prelude to al-Kutub as-Sittah (the six books).

This book serves as an indispensable introduction to Mishkat al-Masabih. The author provides a short biography to the compiler, Khatib Tabrizi, followed by some background information to Mishkat itself.
